Mechanic Schools to MBA Degrees

WORLD MOTOR SPORT COUNCIL

The World Motor Sport Council met in Monaco on December 10, 2004. The following decisions were taken:
The FIA has published the confirmed race dates for 2005, which are listed below. There will be six back-to-back races next season and a total of 19 races. Turkey is a new addition to the calendar and the season will end one week earlier than last year with the Chinese Grand Prix.

Restructuring of the World Rally Championship Commission

Approved the restructure of the FIA World Rally Championship Commission and delegated Mr Jacques Régis, President of the FFSA, with the authority to take charge of the Championship and prepare a plan for the next five years to be presented to the next meeting of the World Council.

GT

Approved the homologation of the BMW 6 Series in the GT1 category.


TOURING CARS

Approved the creation of an FIA European Touring Car Cup made up of a single event and opened to each country adopting the Super 2000 regulations.


INTERNATIONAL KARTING COMMISSION (CIK-FIA)

Approved the establishment of an Advisory Group to liaise with the karting industry.  The group will consist of Michael Schumacher, Peter Kaiser, Peter de Bruijn, Vittorio Loriga and Vincent Caro.

Following the request of the World Motor Sport Council to reduce costs in Karting, regulations have been amended and now limit the equipment used per event to one chassis, two engines and two sets of tyres per driver.

For 2007, one engine will be allowed per event, using the new generation of 2-stroke 125cc engines.
