San Jose Resident Takes Top Prize in InfineonRaceway.com Photo Contest
SONOMA, Calif. Ronald Boisseranc has been bringing his camera with him to Infineon Raceway for the last five years to the Dodge/Save Mart 350 NASCAR NEXTEL Cup weekend, and this year it really paid off.
Boisseranc was the grand prize winner in the InfineonRaceway.com Photo Contest and will receive two free tickets to the 2006 Dodge/Save Mart 350, among other items, for his snapshot.
The winning image was of race-winner Tony Stewart doing a burnout in front of the Turn 7 Hillside Terraces. Not only did Boisseranc capture the burnout, but the picture also includes a big thumbs-up from a fan in the seating area, which made the image more powerful.
“We had great seats in Turn 7 and I’m a huge Tony Stewart fan. He’s my favorite driver and always has been, said Boisseranc, owner of 13th Street Radiator and Muffler in San Jose. “He can drive the wheels off anything and I was lucky to get the picture.
In addition to the two tickets, Boisseranc will receive a one-day photo pass at next year’s Dodge/Save Mart 350 and his image will also be published in the official NASCAR event program. Boisseranc, 55, has been a NASCAR fan for more than 40 years and owns quite a bit of memorabilia, including a Tony Stewart radiator that is hanging in the showroom of his radiator and muffler shop.
“I bought that from Joe Gibbs Racing on the internet, Boisseranc said. “It’s one of a lot of NASCAR things I have.
In all, more than 500 images were submitted for the contest. You can view Boisseranc’s winning image at www.infineonraceway.com, as well as many of the honorable mention pictures.
