ANDERSSON TAKES SURPRISE WIN IN ST. PETERSBURG !

SELIO & COMPARATO ON PODIUM ; CAPPELLINI & PRICE FAIL TO FINISH !
Swedish driver Jonas Andersson was in the right place at the right time and held on to take his 2nd victory of the season to move within 10 points of the championship lead of the 2008 U.I.M. F1 World Championship for power boating at the 6th Grand Prix of Russia on the Neva River in front of tens of thousands of fans in downtown St. Petersburg.

JAY PRICE MAKES SPECTACULAR CHARGE TO 2ND !
Nine time World Champion Guido Cappellini proved he can still control a race by holding off four different challengers coming home to win for the first time in 2008 and his first time ever in the country of Finland to capture the 4th Grand Prix of Finland on Lake Vesijarvi in downtown Lahti for his 67th career victory.

The Grand Prix history of Finland is relatively short, with this weekend’s 3rd race of the 2008 U.I.M. F1 World Championship for power boating being only the 4th Grand Prix in this Scandinavian country, but two of the past three winners came to reaching glory for the not only the first, but only time in their careers.

JONAS ANDERSSON EARNS FIRST CAREER POLE IN QATAR!
AL QAMZI AND SELIO IN TOP-3; QATAR TEAM PRICE 5TH!

Swedish F2 multi-time champion Jonas Andersson didn't run many laps on Friday, but the one's he did he made a big statement as he put together a days best 43.64 second lap around the 5-turn 1.99 kilometer lap to capture his first pole position and will lead the field of 23 drivers from 13 different nations for tomorrow's Grand Prix of Qatar in downtown Doha on the edge of the Arabian Gulf.
