STABILITY SET FOR DEFENDING TEAM CHAMPS IN 2009!!
The long sorting out of a number two driver to defending World Champion Jay Price on the 2008 Team Championship winning Qatar Team has been settled as outstanding English veteran Andy Elliott will link up with the driver whom he has known for over 20 years as they head off for the next round of the 2009 U.I.M. F1 World Championship for power boating at the Grand Prix of Finland in the city of Lahti for the weekend of the 12th and 13th of June.

Powerboat racing has lost a truly dedicated driver as 53 year-old Enrico “Chicco” Vidoli passed away due to an accident on the 9th of May on Lake Lugano doing what he truly loved best, competing and racing on the water.

POSTPONEMENT OF THE GP OF RUSSIA

22th of April, 2009
St.Petersburg and Lenigrad region Motorboat & Yachting-Tourism Federation, organiser of the Grand Prix of Russia scheduled on June 4th & 6th, has just informed us that due to the carrying out the World Grain Forum at the same dates as Saint Petersburg Economic Forum the time schedule and availability of the location of all the events to be held in town were completely cancelled due to security reasons. The race will take place instead on the second week of August, the exact date shall be confirmed shortly. The race in Lahti instead is confirmed on Friday and Saturday June 12 & 13.

LOCAL DRIVER BENAVENTE REACHES PODIUM IN PORTUGAL
Team Abu Dhabi driver Thani Al Qamzi watched his teammate for over 20 minutes dominate the 2nd Round of the 2009 U.I.M. F1 World Championship race at the Grand Prix of Portugal only to take the lead when Ahmad Al Hameli parked his boat with a seven second lead giving his close friend his 5th career victory.

AL HAMELI WINS FROM POLE FOR FIRST GP VICTORY !

PRICE AND ANDERSSON FILL OUT PODIUM IN PORTUGAL !
Team Abu Dhabi driver Hamad Al Hameli led from the pole and controlled the opening round of the 2009 U.I.M. F1 World Championship for power boating as he won for the first time in his career and now leads the drivers title with 20 points after winning by 1.91 seconds at the 11th Annual Grand Prix of Portugal.

RACE CIRCUIT WILL CHANGES MAKE IT ONE OF THE QUICKEST
The start of the U.I.M. F1 World Championship for power boating is just hours away at the start of a very historic beginning in the 2009 campaign as two races will be run this weekend in front of what is expected to be very large crowds along the Arade River. The start of back to back Grand Prix's will begin with the 30-minute Round One of the Championship scheduled 14:15 GMT.

THANI AL QAMZI WINS ON HOME WATERS IN SHARJAH!

SAMI SELIO TAKES 2ND IN THE CHAMPIONSHIP; ANDERSSON 3RD!
It finally happened. Native son Thani Al Qamzi of Team Abu Dhabi put together a marvelous run and led from the first lap to the 50th and final tour to take his first victory of the season and his second in three years on the Khalid Lagoon to win the Ninth Grand Prix of Sharjah on the 8th and final round of the 2008 U.I.M. F1 World Championship in front of thousands of race fans in downtown Sharjah.
