Steve Peterson Memorial Service

WKA


A memorial service will be held to honor Steve Peterson on Saturday, July 19, 2008 at 2:00pm at the Lowe’s Motor Speedway infield kart track. It is here that Steve will be honored with the celebration of his life and love of motorsports with the disbursement of his ashes over the kart track. All who knew Steve are invited to attend. The kart track is located inside turns three and four in the speedway’s infield. Entrance to the infield is via the tunnel on the backstretch just before turn three.

Snap-On Stars Of Karting Presented By The Indy Racing League Partners With The Academy Of Motorsports To Provide Scholarship

The 2008 Snap-on Stars of Karting presented by the Indy Racing League is proud to announce a new partnership with The Academy of Motorsports. The partnership will mainly focus on a scholarship to be provided to a driver for the 2008 series for one of the The Academy’s students. However, in addition, Stars and The Academy will also work to educate other drivers in the series of the opportunity to join The Academy of Motorsports as a student.

SKIP BARBER NAMES KARTING SCHOLARSHIP SHOOT-OUT’S “ELITE 12”

Plus, MAZDASPEED Motorsports Development Ladder to sponsor its largest award

LAKEVILLE, Conn.

Skip Barber Racing announced the names of the 12 karters who, based on their accomplishments, assessed potential and other attributes, have won scholarship invitations to the 11th annual Skip Barber Karting Shoot-out, January 31 – February 1-3, 2008, at Sebring International Raceway. By virtue of being selected, each of the 12 talented drivers has been awarded a scholarship covering the cost of a Skip Barber Three Day Racing School, the completion of which is required in order to enter the Shoot-out.

Daytona Sprint Track Receives Major Facelift For KartWeek

11.28.2007 - As karters converge on the beginning of a new season on the George Kugler/Bridgestone Manufacturer’s Cup Series driven by Mazda, they will be greeted by an old friend with a fresh smile on her face. WKA Opens TaG Class to New Engines

In 2005, WKA added the TAG (Touch and Go) class to the Manufacturer’s Cup Series and approved ten engines for competition in the 2005 through 2007 seasons. Now WKA is inviting manufacturers, distributors, and importers of TaG engines to submit new TaG engines or new parts for existing engines for the 2008 through 2010 competition years.
