Mat Mladin DQ appeal from VIR Superbike races denied
AMA Pro Racing
Daytona Beach, Fla.
AMA Pro Racing announced today that the appeal of the disqualification of Mat Mladin on the #6 Suzuki from the Superbike races at Virginia International Raceway on August 16-17, 2008 has been deemed without merit and has been denied. The original penalty remains as previously announced and becomes final with this decision.

As the five-week summer break in the World Superbike Championship calendar comes to an end this coming weekend at Donington Park, Noriyuki Haga and Troy Corser (Yamaha Motor Italia WSB Team) will each have particularly good recent memories to draw on. Haga won race two at this classic venue last year and Corser scored a double podium, each riding for the current Yamaha squad.

Attack Kawasaki’s Davies Courageously Finishes Supersport Race

Attack Kawasaki’s Chaz Davies returned to race action in the AMA Supersport race at Road Atlanta after going down in a multiple rider pile up that also brought down teammate Steve Rapp. Davies unknowingly rode with a broken wrist and finished the race in 16th after starting in the back of the pack. In the AMA Superbike race, Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Jamie Hacking came in early on in the race with a bike issue.

Attack Kawasaki’s Rapp and Davies Finish in Formula Xtreme Top-Five
Braselton, Ga. – Attack Kawasaki’s Steve Rapp and Chaz Davies came across the finish line with a well earned fourth and fifth during the AMA Formula Xtreme race at Road Atlanta. After a red flag, Rapp battled with the front-runners, finishing only .3 seconds behind third. Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Jamie Hacking finished the 25-lap AMA Superbike race in 13th after a low-speed crash held him up.

“ Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Jamie Hacking fought his way through the pack to finish with his best result of the weekend in sixth during the AMA Superbike race at Virginia International Raceway. Teammate Roger Hayden sat out of the Superbike race with a stomach flu, competing in the AMA Supersport class where he finished 14th. Attack Kawasaki’s Chaz Davies finished 11th, while teammate Steve Rapp finished 13th.

Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Hacking Repeats Podium Finish in Ohio

Lexington, Ohio. (August 5, 2008)
“ Monster Energy Kawasaki's Jamie Hacking returned to the top three after putting in a great ride, earning his eighth season-podium in the AMA Superbike race at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. After a holeshot start, Hacking settled comfortably into third and came across the finish line seven seconds in front of fourth. In the AMA Supersport race, Attack Kawasaki’s Steve Rapp raced for sixth, while teammate Chaz Davies kept it in the top-ten in ninth. Hacking’s teammate Hayden was taken out during the Supersport race and had an issue during the Superbike race.

“ Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Jamie Hacking held onto a third-place finish during a chaotic AMA Superbike race at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course on Saturday. The race saw three red flags and stretched more than two hours before checkered flag flew. Teammate Roger Hayden matched his return effort from Laguna Seca with a sixth-place finish. The AMA Formula Xtreme race had Attack Kawasaki’s Chaz Davies earning fourth after the race was called due to a red flag. Teammate Steve Rapp was right behind Davies in fifth.
