As part of its responsible drinking campaign, "Champions Drink Responsibly", Bacardi Limited held its long awaited "Driving Experience of a Lifetime" event. The event witnessed the opportunity to be in the passenger seat next to Michael Schumacher on a Maserati GranTurismo S in the Ascari circuit, near Ronda in Spain.

The Midwest Off-Road Racing Community is coming together in Abrams, Wisconsin March 14, for the first of its kind safety and marketing seminar, geared for the short course off road racing community. The safety of the race competitors is at the top of the list for every motorsports sanctioning body, and in recent years the industry has seen new innovations in the field of driver safety. Thankfully, many of those innovations are being implemented in off-road racing. Some of the innovations are highly recommended, while others are required. In many instances, there is more than one product in the marketplace to meet these new safety regulations. Several vendors will be on hand with their safety related product lines on display.

NHRA Funny Car champion to be part of 3-day festival of speed, Mar. 6-8
Cruz Pedregon has come full circle. The two-time NHRA world champion Funny Car driver earned his NHRA racing license at historic Auto Club Famoso Raceway in Bakersfield, Calif. The same place his father Frank raced in the 1960s and his brother Tony – also a two-time NHRA Funny Car champ – got his racing license. Now Pedregon is returning to Auto Club Famoso Raceway as Grand Marshal of the 51st March Meet, the track’s most famous and prestigious race, Mar. 6-8.

March Meet Tops Auto Club Famoso Raceway 2009 Schedule of Events

Race fans will get their money’s worth at Auto Club Famoso Raceway in 2009. A full schedule of events at the legendary track has been announced, including the fabled March Meet, (Mar. 6-8) which inaugurated top-level drag racing in Bakersfield and features nostalgia drag racing in 12 classes. Tickets: a Super 3-Day Pass for $75 can be purchased online now and can be picked up at the track the week of the event. There are no service charges for tickets purchased online at www.autoclubfamosoraceway.com. Individual day tickets for the event will go on sale Mar. 2, but will be available only at the track. Ticket prices are $25 for Fri., Mar. 6; $30 for Sat., Mar. 7; and $30 for Sun., Mar. 8.

Classic Sports Racing Group Charity Challenge Returns to Infineon Raceway, Oct. 10-12

Vintage car racing will take over Infineon Raceway at the Classic Sports Racing Group's (CSRG) 5th annual Charity Challenge. All proceeds from the event will benefit Speedway Children’s Charities, the charitable arm of Infineon Raceway. Over the last four years, CSRG has generated more than $367,000 for SCC.
